Grace delivered a HUGE filly 5/15 at 0945. Her "grandmother" Joyce Hutchinson from Gab Creek Farm (www.gabcreek.com) tells me she is a PALOMINO!!! Her name is Ensigns Amazing Grace, barn name Amy. She is SWEET as can be - I can already walk up to her out in the field and she will nuzzle and want rubbing and scratching all over! We are DEFINATELY going to do this cross again! Thank you SO much Joyce & John, and of course, Brio! Your daughter is truly AMAZING!. The first picture was when Amy was just a few hours old. The second is at 8 days old, and the third at 3 months.

and SURPRISE!! Sophie (aka Kells Magic in the Heir) proved the vet wrong and delivered an ENORMOUS chestnut colt by our leased stallion Universal Cameleon. I played midwife for Soph, and even though she's had a number of foals before, its a good thing, cuz this colt stood 4' tall at the back AT BIRTH! It wasn't easy for Mom nor son, but both are doing fine now. I had forgotten the difference between girls - sugar and spice; and boys. He is named Stormy, after all the T storms we've had lately, and his registered name will be Ensigns Phalanx... he will be for sale!

WELCOME MONARCHS BLACK LILLIE! Lillie comes to Ensignsgrace from the Grunden Ranch in NE, and we are THRILLED to have her! We have long admired Harlan and Tammy Grunden's RG Stuart Monarch, her sire (16h [barefoot] Bay stallion) and she is out of their lovely RG Cafalillie, who herself is 15+h and is a Teton Black Lillie daughter. We had visited the Neely Ranch (Teton Morgans) years ago and have always admired their breeding program. We think Lillie combines the best of Funquest lines (from both Monarch and Cafallilie) with outcrosses to Tetonia and Caduceus Denver/Rimlo Lack Valiant from her other two granddam's sides. Monarch's mom has horses on her pedigree like Topside Sable, Lovely Paintbrush and Chief Justin Morgan. Monarch's Black Lillie should mature to over 15h, and she will be a valuable asset to our broodmare herd! Thank you SO much Harlan and Tammy for sharing this wonderful filly with us! We know she will LOVE playing with our filly from this year, Ensigns Amazing Grace (our palomino filly)!
